I recently purchased a secondhand E5. After some careful transmitter setup and some assistance from forum members with the setup of the Castle ESC I took it for its maiden flight today.

Wow and wow. I was blown away with how well it flew and how locked in and stable it was. Everything about but was smooth.

It was quite windy this afternoon and the E5 didn't seem to notice. My TREX 500 was buffeted by the wind, but the E5 just ate it up.

I was really amazed at the difference between the two. I'm guessing the additional size and weight plus, governed head speed and build quality etc make a bigger difference than I Imagined.

It may sound strange but the smooth response and more locked in feel gave me a boost of confidence.

One of the plankers at the field who knew me as a newbie from a year ago when I joined the club commented after watching my flight that my skill level had improved dramatically. Last time he saw me fly I was tail in hovering :)

Today it was circles, 8s and stall turns and a flip or two thrown in for good measure. The E5 was very graceful. Maybe it's this size difference, but it seems to move in a slower motion than the TREX.

Overall I am ecstatic with the purchase and flight characteristics. :)

If anyone wants a spare E5 boom let me know. I have one lying around I will never use. It might even have a torque tube too.

PM me the address details. Not sure what the plans are for Tuesday yet. If not Tuesday I will make a time to check it out before I make any purchases.

Hi feral, *not trying to sound like a smarty pants here - no offense intended* out of genuine curiosity, what makes the rush so much better? Have you flown the e7se? It's a bit of a different character than the classic e7.

The finish of the kit is a bit better the machine work is finer and the carbon is very smooth everything fits and works on the Rush.

My E5 transmission frame bolt holes where not slotted as it said in the manual which makes my counter gear mesh very tight and I couldnt for the life of me get the spindle bolts out to grease the grip bearings.

Not saying synergy is shiz ( I have 2 of them ) they do fly well

Just that the Rush is a bit better

I have owned every Synergy Heli they have and consider them to be a solid machine tailored for all types of pilots. I have even represented Synergy for the last couple of years. The main difference between the 2 models is that the Rush due to its larger components such as the 12mm main shaft and a 10mm head axle makes it a more solid machine. I mostly prefer the 2 sic head of the rush also.

Good stuff guys, thanks for the input. That's unfortunate about your e5 feral, did you mention it to your retailer? I know Synergy would replace any part that isn't right out of the box without question.
I was curious because I like to hear why people fly what they fly, and also because I have no experience with Alees. I try to take in all the knowledge I can from the experiences of others. They are certainly good looking machines. Personally, I like the simplicity of the direct to swash servo setup on the Synergy helis, and the new e7se head feels awesome to me. Very crisp and responsive and it seems to mesh with my flying style quite well. I have flown a small collection of different helis from Compass, Miniature Aircraft, SAB, Align, Minicopter, and Henseleit. I have been very happy with my Synergy products and am excited to have recently become a rep for them just last month. Thanks again, brothers.
