This one came up for sale last week at a price that I didn’t mind paying. I’m in the process of going over it and changing the setup a little. It came with a Scorpion motor, Hawk esc, Align 6v servo's & HV Futaba Tail servo, Brain FBL and Sats...

I’m using my Pyro 700-52 motor and Jive ESC, fitting a NEO FBL unit and cleaning up the wiring etc....... I'll stick with the Align servos for now. Going to use the Jive BEC and may go with a R2 Buffer cap for a backup....

Got it last night and got started on it straight away, hope to maiden it this Sunday at AFF

Getting there... got the main frame done and the tail boom fitted up and went through the NEO setup with the Soko.....

I will need to get a NiMh 800mah buffer pack for it but in the mean time Dennis was kind enough to lend me his Scorpion backup guard for the weekend.

So far only had one flight.....and it was perfect!! After some more flights I'll get a feel for anything that needs changing but so far so good...

Most of the maiden was at 1750rpm got just over 8 minutes flight and peaked just over 82amps lol

      Nice Ozzy!
Your pics and experience is making me think up old good memories of my TDR! I also had the Insane canopy as per your last pic above.

      One of Fassters old canopies.

And this one was my everyday canopy, red windshield always popped in the sun.

Trusty heli the TDR, good gentle flyer with excellent tracking ;)

      Banshee next aye ;) ;) ;)

Popular canopy! I have seen others with them as well...... easy to see why, it's a very nice looking canopy.

Hopefully todays weather is nice enough and I can go fly this bird and try out both canopies.

Banshee!!!! mmmmmmm now that would be nice.........

The Insane canopy is much better....

One of 9 I made, limited edition, all sold & shipped to TDR owners around the world. Including one to Jan Henseleit the creator of the TDR.
Ozzy has the only bead-blasted version ;)

The new motor mount works well, the motor was nowhere near as hot! Thanks Chopsy

Thought I would try a single 6s 5000 pack, rpm was just over 1000.... the sound of the blades is awesome and with full collective I could manage some flips and rolls.... next I'll try a 6s 3300 pack which will be a lot lighter!

It was just a quick 3 minute flight as a test, I checked the flight pack and it had 80% left in it.....

Got a new Jive Pro 120 esc today, fitted this one to the TDR with a TelMe module for full Telemetry.... The older heli Jive 120 esc that was on it will go in the Logo when I rebuild it...

First thing I noticed was the throttle % had to go up!! Anyone know the lowest % these will run on?

Thats pretty small for a 120! fantastic saving on weight.

Conflicting comments... some say 15% is absolute lowest and others say 30% is the lowest as the bailout operates at this point. Should be mode4 as you already know. Said it before, but what a beasty heli....

Yeah they are small..... Thanks for the Vid, thats the Heli Jive. I know the one I had I could easily drop it to 30% but the new one is the Jive Pro and from what I have read they are different to the Heli Jive.

I had it at 30% and it wouldnt even spool up lol.....

If you're chasing lower rpm, a lower cell count would do it.
And the easy way I found to get a lower cell count in my old TDR was to run Revolectrix batteries........ :lol
      ;)
