I recently purchased a secondhand E5. After some careful transmitter setup and some assistance from forum members with the setup of the Castle ESC I took it for its maiden flight today.

Wow and wow. I was blown away with how well it flew and how locked in and stable it was. Everything about but was smooth.

It was quite windy this afternoon and the E5 didn't seem to notice. My TREX 500 was buffeted by the wind, but the E5 just ate it up.

I was really amazed at the difference between the two. I'm guessing the additional size and weight plus, governed head speed and build quality etc make a bigger difference than I Imagined.

It may sound strange but the smooth response and more locked in feel gave me a boost of confidence.

One of the plankers at the field who knew me as a newbie from a year ago when I joined the club commented after watching my flight that my skill level had improved dramatically. Last time he saw me fly I was tail in hovering :)

Today it was circles, 8s and stall turns and a flip or two thrown in for good measure. The E5 was very graceful. Maybe it's this size difference, but it seems to move in a slower motion than the TREX.

Overall I am ecstatic with the purchase and flight characteristics. :)

Quality has a huge advantage in overall flight characteristics. Synergy makes a great heli

You`ll never go wrong with Synergy. Matt and Any make fantastic helicopters, and they back them up. I`m glad to hear you had a successful maiden. :)

The E5 is as smooth as a gravy sandwich (as @feral would say), my brother has one and it has a silky smooth power train, beautiful flying geometry and not to bad on the eyes either

You should have seen the E5 the Synergy crew had at IRCHA... I think they said it was like 16 pounds all up. Could do a burnout and still flew piro flips LOL!!! It was a big hit on the flight line.

      Very well said.

They are great people, too. Their level of friendliness and dedication to their customers sets the bar. Other manufacturers could stand to learn a thing or two from Matt & Amy. I have to give it up to Chris Sexton for always being extremely friendly and helpful as well. I think the Synergy team is a carefully chosen lot. If you ever get the opportunity to meet these guys you will probably love Synergy even more.

I get to see Matt and Amy at quite a few events every year, and yes. They are wonderful people, and lots of fun to hang out with.

I met them at positive pitch last year. Very down to earth and approachable. They deserve the good reputation they have fostered and their helis are nothing short of awesome. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone who has actually flown one say they were disappointed.

      I'm hooked, that's for sure...

The Rush will smoke it but there is no Rush 550.

My N5c flys very good the e5 is pretty much the same but will have double the horse power
