Depends what you are trying to send. Are you after cheap price or fast delivery? What size?

Not Australia Post, unless you want your stuff to magically disappear.

While working in exploration I have used Australian Air Express a lot. They have been very reliable. Along with Toll, DHL, the mentioned TNT.

Also I think Fed Ex operates in Australia, as I had things Fed-Ex delivered, but that was mainly from overseas. In my opinion, Fed Ex is the most reliable service ever. Expensive, but worth every cent when it comes to mission critical delivery times.

TransDirect (www.transdirect.com.au) will compare carriers & let you chose which one you want, a bit like a broker. There are some limitations on residential pickup/delivery in some areas. I've used them a number of times & never had an issue. They take casual bookings, no account needed.
