Unlucky (or bad pilot judgement @Beaver). It's funny how so many accidents begin with the phrase, "...now watch this.."

I edited the pic to better illustrate the scenario.
It should have been an easy landing had it not been for a momentary lapse of depth-perception. o_O

Oh @Beaver, I am having so much fun with your 450. This helicopter is the best thing you could have ever done for me! Its amazing how much chaos can be caused by sticking my middle finger into the tail blades.

But lets face it... crashing is part of the hobby! thats what makes this hobby such a great hobby!

Oh @Ozzy Mozzy let me just say the helicopter was absolutely delicious! I was very hungry, expecting more of a feast from heli heat wave. But yesterdays activities ensured that I got my "just deserts !!!!" Muah ha ha ha ha

I stopped at a nice big park late this afternoon, there was a nice overcast and no glare with a light wind. I fired up the 450 and went up to do some flips and and inversions...... and the thing shut down and dropped like a rock with no warning..... no servo response.... no chance to try to auto.
The camera feed stopped when the power shut off. No major damage..... Landing skids.
So now I get to troubleshoot the primary power circuits.
The Irony: My New Align blades were waiting for me when I arrived home. :p

This is ultimately just a brain fart.
Not just due to being sh1t at flying, but I was lacking sleep, no breakfast, dehydrated and a little bored from watching planks fly circuits in 43 degree heat.

Such a simple error, just didn't pull elevator. Perhaps subconsciously I was hoping for a crash to get a bit of excitement ;)

Rebuild and get back out there :)

That didn't look so bad as it could have been.... fortunately. :D

Initial look over - main blades, front frames section, skids, canopy mount rods, 6s 4400 pack (bottom mounted pack), canopy is definitely now just a beater. Will no doubt be a few more bolts, head dampeners, likely a main shaft changes, head thrust bearings to check/change and other misc stuff to check.
Pity the battery was only 8 fights old.

Not too bad, but being a Kasama I will have to check over everything.
And clean all the bloody red dirt off everything and out of the motor! :)

      Yep, Kasama Dune.
Was loving it, flys so good - or at least it did...
      Lucky I got spares!

I think Kasamas are pretty close to heli porn, but IMHO they need more maintenance and adjustment than others, but smooth as a gravy sandwich in the air

You have had this heli twice before in major ways (two helpings you greedy God), and few more that I have managed to catch with autos, this heli truly does have your name on it.

I get the CX450 tuned up and flying right...... and naturally I manage to £π¢k up and nearly stick the tail in like a yard dart.
No major damage though. Bent tail shaft, wasted my new blades, and fortunately spun the Loctite in my OWB instead of stripping a gear or shelling the bearing.
Blame it on slacking off the sim last couple of weeks.
