Get ready for the Heli Event of a life time! Polish your canopies, grease your thrust bearings and work on locking in your piroflips. As usual this will end up being a great event! Get ready to Thump the skies harder than Holly Holm on Ronda Rousey!

Just note that the event is about 100 meters up the road from the intersection of dunns road and olympic hwy

With the event now just around the corner, who's the guest? Surely they know by now.

It's going to be awkward having the real Kyle Stacey here Mick, you might have to stop calling yourself Kyle!!

      More details from the co-ordinators...

Well we did say we would have some news for you at the end of the week, so here we go!

This year’s Heli Heatwave will be held on the 19th, 20th, 21st February 2016 as was announced the other day, at the Wagga Model Aero Club, Olympic Way south of Wagga.

The event will commence on Friday 19th Feb @ 9am with general flying and demos until 5pm. Saturday 20th February will be officially known as “A day for Dave”, in honour of our good friend and ex WMAC member Dave Maher, aka “Turbo Dave”. We will have general flying until 11.30am, we will then hold a ceremony for our mate Dave, followed by a demo flight from a couple of his mates, a couple of fun things Dave liked to do ( auto comp, drag races, speed runs), then for the first time ever at Heli Heatwave – FPV racing quads. We will have a qualifying session around 12.30pm, then the main event at 5.00pm, the inaugural Heli Heatwave Cup FPV race. Once qualifying is complete, general flying and demos will continue to 5pm.
At the conclusion of the quad race, we will offer a dinner at the club, followed by the night flying session, similar to this year’s event. Sunday will commence @ 9am and conclude Sunday 21st @ 3pm. It would be greatly appreciated if pilots could hang around until 3pm as a lot of spectators do turn up after lunch but don’t get to see anything because everyone has gone. Our club puts a lot of money into this event and promotes it to the local community as a family day out.

Food, Drinks and Ice creams will all be available at the Canteen for purchase.

Camping at the field is allowed and will have a cover fee per night attached. Hopefully, the club will have its new Toilet/ Shower facility on site by then for patrons to use. If not a better solution will be found then last year’s effort.

The registration site will be up and running shortly with dinner and camping options added to the form.

Last but not least, the Guest/s announcement. We can confirm that the Guest/s has been locked in (this will not change), will be at the event Friday 19th February to Sunday 21st, will be doing demos throughout the weekend, will be holding a Flight Instruction School on the Thursday 18th February for 5 lucky pilots. But we can’t tell you anymore than that, due to the fact Brendan Tucker has a sick sense of humour, bordering on a sadistic nature, he has decided to withhold the name of the guest/s until CHRISTMAS DAY!! Announcement will be made on the Heli Heatwave Facebook page. Just think, there's only13 days to go!!!!!

For more info on the Flight School, email Brendan Tucker @ bjtucker23atgmail.com, and no he wont tell you who it is until Christmas Day!

Would be better if the special guest where revealed sooner than later, as it would get more people interested, and give maximum time for people like myself contemplating traveling long distances to the event.
Sooner we know the more likely we might be swayed to definitely come and make costly travel arrangements...

And if I got to get bloody Australia Post road service to get my batteries over east I'd better get them on the way soon! The slow bastards! LOL!

Kyle might have to stop using his real name for the weekend and let @3dmick use it, afterall, Mick is our own - Kyle Stacey is a visitor
