DAM DAM DAM.... I was thinking last night at 2.00am in the morning.... what could it be. Then i thought Elementary.... which was the watson clue and number three....hydrogen, helium lithium.... but what about the - in charge bit? Would lithium ion be (ion as charged particle) refer to the last bit? Its all i could come up with!

 

Ah ha, a 2am thinker, it's a proper riddle then!
You were on the right track with the elementary clue. The riddle part "and I'm in charge" referred to lithium being part of the chemistry of a lipo battery hence it's part if the charge i.e. in the charge, not in control of something.
Was that too hard? It got some good answers!
