I only store my packs in the fridge during summer, but make sure to take them out at least 5 or so hours before charging so they can get up to temp

If you have over discharged the battery, putting them on a slow (1-2C) charge can actually help cool the batteries much more quickly. In an over discharge scenario, the batteries will actually keep heating for quite a while if you do not put them on a slow charge

 

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it. THey were som old practice packs for a pro, he beat them to the point of puffing, smokin hot. We threw them on the charger at 2C, and they cooled off quite a bit quicker than they would have otherwise, and they weren't heavily damaged. They were in the 3.2V/cell range after a 3:45 flight

 

I wonder if the batteries are cooling because its reversing the direction of power flow just experienced after a heavy discharge. Interesting and good to know to say the least.
