Ok...lol.....some of you may know how much I hate my nano.....but man lol....I went out for the second time outside. I went outside to check the wind and it was calm as Jesus on Valium. So I went out to do some inverted flying and circuits and what not and holy hell the wind started picking up but if I wasn't flying I'd say it wasn't windy at all. But flying the nano it was like a hurricane. I'm not the most coordinated pilot and I'm not the best but I know my way around and to the lame I may look pretty good. My god I hate this heli....there is not enough room to fly inside. Basically all I can do is some quick flips, hover, and slow flying. I can't fly out side because I can't see the damn thing, if someone farts it blows the heli around, you have to keep it pretty close so you can see it well enough to know your orientation and that means you really need to be fast on the sticks which I'm not that good at. I know if I keep practicing I'll get better but man it's just so much easier with a 500 lol. At least when I give positive pitch I know it will go up and not down lol. And let me tell you about circuits and figure 8's lol. I don't know what the problem is with me and this nano, but I can NOT do circuits. For some reason I can't bank the turns. I have no problem on the longer turns but having to do it all in such a close proximity and faster I have such a problem. I can't wait to permanently retire this thing or give it away haha. I for sure want a nice micro around but the nano does not fit me for sure. I'm don't with blade micros. They are just junk IMO. Maybe the nano just left a bad taste in my mouth. So sometime between now and fall I'm going to have to get something I enjoy better. Hopefully at IRCHA I can test out some micros and find one I like. I'll be going with a wad of cash so I'm sure every vender there will be yelling "try this" "try this" lol. I hope to walk away with 3 new helis depending on what I buy within the next few months. I know I can't wait until august for everything. After all that's most the flying season. I really want to try the nano in an indoor court or something like a high school basketball court. See if I can have more fun with it. I see all these vids of people enjoying the nano outside and I feel like I must be a retard or something lol. I'm just so sure a mcpx BL will fly so much better for what I want out of my heli.
How does everyone else like their nano? Does it seem to be holding up or are you constantly replacing something on it? I spent a ton of money making my nano crash proof and the only thing it doesn't have is a frame. I didn't want one because of weight. So what I did was drill holes in the frame and the canopy mounts and put a metal rod inside of them and then I glided them back on. So now they are as hard as steel. I kept having trouble with the canopy mounts breaking after crashes where the canopy would hit first and break off the mounts. I first said well I fly good enough now that I won't have any more of those crashes and just bought another stock frame...well I put that on and broke 2 mounts lol. But it was because I was being dumb. So I bought another one, put it in my heli tool box and smashed it when I closed it hahahahaha ha. Omg I was so mad. But like I said I ended up piecing them all together and making a nice stiff frame reinforced with steel rod and carbon fiber. I have so many fixes on this thing if I could do it all over I would of spent the extra money on something better. I mean hell my cheap v911 has not ever broke after some hard crashes from flying around at top speed circuits and hitting my light fixture...that this is hard core. Very boring to fly since it's so easy and you can't do anything with but still a great heli.
