..... I have successfully done this once with a V-Bar Mini clone when it was fully functional, till @Crash Heligod rendered it impaired, and still use it on fixed wing even though the gyro functions are dead. Actually, the malfunction was probably due to a connection error on my part at the RxA port, only the raw channel outputs from the TX work on the Rx, as it were acting like a simple 5-ch Rx, yet I can still use the Bluetooth app to manipulate the setup.

By manually manipulating the swash settings in expert mode, the geometry can be set so elevator and aileron do not mix (90°/180° geometry based swash settings).
Collective function can be configured to act as variable flap mix with automatic up elevator compensation for low speed flying/landings.
Mixing can be manipulated both at TX and X-Bar setup software. I'm considering the purchase of another "X"-Bar fbl and copying the .vbr file onto it, and simply turn down the gyros at first till I get things dialed in. The last active attempt made a homemade plank go from flying like a loosely trimmed edge 300 to a fully flapped 747.... but I hadn't fully realized the adaptability of the geometry then.
    That being said....

I have an Ikon/Brain 1 that I might attempt to reconfigure for plank. I intend on doing some FPV things on my latest plank, and I'm thinking the bank-limit/self-leveling functions of the Ikon could be of great benefit.
.... Just thinking out loud here.

..... and I still fly my Mini Protos at least once every week or two, so dont think Ive gone totally plank. :D
