Some guy had one of them at the 2014 OHB too. I didn`t get to see it fly, as I was busy with team Zeal stuff, and flying. But I did manage a few photos of it.

I'm not sure about that.. It just looks wrong to me. Was it Einstein that said things need to be as simple as possible and no simpler.. That looks complex and awkward, I'm asking myself why?

Yeah, with the double swashplate and all those links, looks slightly complicated.

Why? I would think just because he could, and for the "wow" factor when he brings it out to the field. I see no real practicality in it other than it`s cool. As @jockstrap mentioned...imagine having to replace 3 sets of blades after a crash. I would like to take it for a spin though, just to see how well (or not) it flies. :D

Well the one that our president built was made many many years ago and it is quite large! - like 800 size. He is into scale helis and this particular project was made because of the stability of a coaxial and it would also work well for scale models. The time of design was in pre-FBL era. He hand built many of the parts. Over time the technology of gyros advanced and now he still has this model flying today - although its quite a bit of maintenance, its become a personal challenge. Its amazing to watch two sets of 800ish size blades spool up. Its twice as scary as a double blade and when it crashes - omg 6 blades is an impressive thing to see de cintergrate. But seeing the heli fly is also impressive. I will ask if he has a video of it somewhere...

Yes I have seen jets coaxial destroyed 6x800mm blades in one hit blades where flying everywhere it was like the matrix
Getting shot buy carbon bits of blade
      It's was cool as lol

LOL... yeah i remember that day! super impressive.... @Crash Heligod had a field day! but it is a super impressive piece of engineering as well. He practically designed the helicopter from scratch which is pretty clever!
