The Protos 380 is almost here. We wanted to give you guys a first look at this _amazing_ machine.

We will release more details soon, but here are a few of the specifications:

    Up to 380mm size disk
    Standard and Evoluzione versions available
Includes miniBrain2 (full featured, yet incredibly small footprint. Includes new processor, logging, and rescue features)
Twin belt design, with robust OWB located in the main pulley assembly
    Auto tail belt tension mechanism
Huge gear ratio range making it compatible with very power system configuration
Very low disk loading with a very high vertical CG. Giving it unmatched flight performance and feel

You can see the heli has heaps of potential. Looked a tiny bit floaty to me but that could be the pilot (who is exceptional by the way). I would like to see super hard collective moves, gut wrenching mobius and hard pogos. Tareq would be a good candidate to see its smak potential.

Tareq should be an official test pilot for all makes. If there is a flaw to be found, I'm sure he would be the one to expose it.

Tried to do a low headspeed flight, but I can go a lot lot lower. Anyway it's a 2700 RPM or so video with a 1300mah LiPo. It's ultra floaty and flies a super long time. More of a smooth calm style in this video. Some sweet "whisp" sounds from the blades, so it's approaching lower headspeed behaviors and sounds.

I'll play some more and see how low it goes while still keeping full 3D capability.

There is an easy cure for "FLOATY". 14 Degrees pitch, super powerful motor, fast and high torque servos, hard and plentiful collective and direct and opposing moves! Turns a float boat into an adrenalin pumping mosquito!!!

just to add on the mobious and pogos I'm not asking much, but would also like to see more of low HS, with everyday manouvers people normally do like piro tic tocs, and 4 point tic tocs etc.

Lastly more close up pics especially the tail

haha apparently this is large enough to hold the 32xxx motors... insert stupid back breaking power! apparently the xnova 2820 is a perfect setup choice...

yep 2500 looks a bit too low, the tic tocs were droppin. 2750 might be the ticket for that bird.

....and that's 6 minutes of tossing the thing around for most of the flight!

Okay.... there is hardly any difference in size of the body compared to what i assume is the stretch minip (swinging 360?). This could explain the floaty look (which i dont mind - like i say heavy pitch control can fix this). Nice find @Ozzy Mozzy .

But the question is... How well does it crash?

Now this is the video i was waiting for! This is flying very nicely! loved the over-speed. Its fast - big enough to be fun - it LOOKS good! But i must ask the question. Why is it that so many people fly a mini-protos or protos 380 without the canopy?

The goblin 380 is hard to beat @smakmeharder harder. For smack the 380 takes the trophy here I believe, It looks far more precise to me and balanced in the air when leaning on it.

Yes you have a very valid point here @MickyD . The 380 does feel very balanced and solid + responsive. Some may say that only functions like that at high rpm - i beg to differ. But even if it is the case, the goblin 380 will run close to 4k all day long - and then some. It does not seem to worry the 380.
