Learn to Fly 3d RC Helicopters

Hi,

I'm new here so please be gentle, hello world :)

Apologies if this post is in the wrong place.

Taking up heli, I have only dabbled with Quadcopters up to this point. I have read and seen how dangerous these Helis are and so I would really appreciate instruction and mentorship.

I'm in Lane Cove, so somebody reasonably close by would be awesome!

Thanks for looking.

Cheers
Richard
Question? Taranis (opentx)
To the person who asked for this. (Sorry I forgot your name!)
Here is a quick guide on setting up a Taranis (OpenTX) with a VBar & SBUS
This config will also work with most FBL units that use the "H1 swashplate" or "Single Servo" type.

Hook up the VBar using S-SBUS between the RX and the FBL unit (RX C).
The servo's output will depend on your swash/servo layout.
Set your connection type in the VBAR software (IE SBUS & do a full reset)
Adjust endpoints/reversing in TX/software as appropriate after configuring the TX.

VBar connections:
RD = Tail rotor servo
Ch1 ... 3 = Swashplate servos
RX...
What would make a helicopter even better than it is today? What design properties? What power plant? Lets brainstorm the idea..
So where is the optimum position to mount a gyro? On the front? On the back? Directly under the rotor? What is best?
High Tech Simplicity

[IMG]If you know about RC helicopter gyros, then you’ve probably heard of Beast X FBL system. The guys over at MicroBeast are at it again with a couple new FBL systems just in time for IRCHA. HD (Heavy Duty) can handle the current of most standard servos, and 2 cell systems. Looking over the limited information on the Plus and Plus HD, these look to keep the pace for 3D FBL systems.

I remember learning how to skydive and the two sayings that stick out in my mind are:

"The ground is the limit"
and
"It's not the fall that kills you, but rather the sudden stop"

For helis, we always say : "If it's not working properly on the ground, it won't heal itself in the air!"

What sayings have you all got?
LOL... Crash and I are spending a lot of time together lately. I had another crash today, with my TSA 600N Pro. I was doing stationary flips, and I ended up flying too close to the planet...

First two shots are of my mishap, and the one below is what the helicopter looked like 20 minutes after I put it in. All fixed up and flying again. You can`t keep me down for long @Crash Heligod ;)
